Their tubes have a nylon outer shell with a net bottom. Tube rentals also include life jackets, helmets and best of all-water cannons for fun-filled water battles! Also available to rent are ice chests, dry bags to keep your gear dry, pelican cases (for small cameras), small portable picnic tables, all at a nominal fee, (everything and anything to make your adventure more fun and comfortable).

The Best Sedona and Verde Valley Tubing Locations

Their recommended top-rated tubing spots are located along the beautiful Oak Creek. Sedona Adventure Outfitter and Guides have chosen 4 of the best locations along Oak Creek to go tubing. These locations are exceptionally scenic and easily accessible. Each one is about 1/8 of a mile to 1 mile stretch.

These tubing hot-spots offer short runs of fast moving current which connect to deep pools that you can float and play in. All the locations are about a 10 to 30 minute drive from their Boathouse in Sedona. The four top-rated tubing areas are Slide Rock State Park, Grasshopper Point, Red Rock Crossing and Mormon Crossing.

Sedona/Oak Creek Tubing Hotspot #1: Slide Rock State Park

Verde River tours start in SedonaSlide Rock State Park has hours of fun for the whole family. Slide Rock has natural water slides and pools carved into the red rocks!

This is a great tubing spot if you're looking for lots of excitement and great photo opportunities because Slide Rock is also a historical marker.

Sedona/Oak Creek Tubing Hotspot #2: Grasshopper Point

Grasshopper Point is a great tubing spot and is also a great swimming hole with sunny and shady spots for picnics. This section of Oak Creek has a deep slow-current pool and a twenty foot rock cliff face that you can jump off into the deep water. The stream continues downward from this diving area, providing tamer swimming and tubing areas-great for water cannon fights! Restrooms/changing areas are available in the parking area. Sedona/Oak Creek Tubing Hotspot #3: Red Rock Crossing & Crescent Moon Ranch Picnic Area

Red Rock Crossing is for tubers who want to have Sedona's most famous red rock formation as their backdrop. One of the most photographed scenes in the southwest is towering Cathedral Rock reflected in the waters of Oak Creek at Red Rock Crossing. Page Springs/Oak Creek Tubing Hotspot #4: Mormon Crossing

Mormon Crossing is located in the Page Springs area of the Verde Valley. This is a remote area where you are likely to be the only ones on the creek. This is a combination of hiking and tubing along this rural stretch of Oak Creek. Mormon Crossing is ideal for tubing groups that want to experience the wildlife of Arizona while having fun in the sun! Directions and maps will be provided. No entry fee.

 

 

Important Water Tubing Tips

Following these tips will help you to have a relaxing, wet, and fun day!

  • Items to bring: Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, several bottles of water, snacks, towel, sheet, shorts, shirt, water shoes, cash.
  • Apply sunscreen liberally several times throughout the day.
  • Bring an ice chest with beverages and food for picnics to stay hydrated as people forget to drink water when they are playing on the creek - leading to dehydration.
  • Wear old sneakers or water shoes in the river. Flip flops are not recommended as they are easily lost.
